Contrast check
Two colours in, the WCAG contrast ratio out, with AA and AAA words for text and controls.
1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)
Run 10 free checks on your own pages, then read plain guides to what WCAG asks of a small-business website, what the ADA means for it, and how to fix what fails.

Each check runs in your browser, names the part of WCAG it serves, and prints as a record.
Two colours in, the WCAG contrast ratio out, with AA and AAA words for text and controls.
1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)
Every Level A and AA success criterion as a plain test you can run, with a printable record.
5.2.1 Conformance Level
Paste one image's alt text, say what the image does, and see each problem with a better pattern.
1.1.1 Non-text Content
A guided Tab-key walk of your own page: skip link, menu, visible focus, traps and order.
2.4.3 Focus Order
Fill in a short form and get a plain statement in W3C's structure, to copy as text or HTML, or print.
3.2.6 Consistent Help
Nine steps after a website demand letter arrives, with the response date counted, saved in your browser, printable.
2.1.1 Keyboard
41 plain tests by page part, from the menu to the footer, with the WCAG criteria each answers.
5.2.2 Full pages
Drop a PDF to see what the file itself shows: tags, title, language, text layer and fields.
1.3.1 Info and Relationships
Build an accessibility conformance report one criterion at a time, ready to print.
5.3 Conformance Claims (Optional)
Every pair of your brand colours checked at once, with the nearest shade that passes.
1.4.11 Non-text Contrast
The work an accessibility auditor does, in an order you can follow yourself.
Run the checks on your own pages, then try each page with the keyboard and a screen reader. An automated scan helps, but a clean report does not mean a site is accessible, so pair it with a manual check.
Fix what fails in your own code, theme or site builder settings, not with an overlay widget laid on top. Each guide shows the fix for the failures it covers.
Keep a dated record of what you tested and fixed, publish an accessibility statement, and retest after each change. If a demand letter arrives, that record is what you bring to your lawyer.
Each topic gathers its checks, guides and comparisons on one page.

Text and control contrast, colour that carries meaning, and how to measure a ratio.

Writing alt text that says what an image is for, and when an image needs none.
1 check, 5 guides, 3 comparisons

Tagged PDFs, reading order and the forms and menus small businesses post as files.
2 checks, 6 guides, 3 comparisons

What the ADA and WCAG ask of a small business site, and what to do when a letter arrives.
3 checks, 7 guides, 2 comparisons
13 comparisons of audit services, testing tools, PDF and caption services, judged on what WCAG asks, by use case. Verdicts are editorial: no vendor can buy a verdict position or displace another vendor.
Put two colours from your own site into the contrast check and see whether body text reaches the 4.5:1 that WCAG asks for.
