Privacy policy

In short

Altstamp publishes free accessibility checks and guides for small-business websites. There is no account, no login and no newsletter. We count page views to learn which pages are useful, and we read the messages people send us through the contact form. We do not sell or share personal information.

The checks

The checks on this site run in your browser. Colours, text, files and answers you enter are not sent to us, and our analytics do not see them. The PDF check reads the file you choose inside your browser and keeps nothing once you leave the page. The four checklists (WCAG 2.2 AA, ADA website, demand letter response and focus order), the colour palette check and the VPAT template keep what you enter in your browser's local storage, so it is still there when you come back. It stays on your device: each of those has a Reset button, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.

Analytics

We use two analytics services to count visits. Neither is used for advertising, and we do not combine them to build a profile of you.

Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without third-party cookies. It tells visitors apart with a hash of the incoming request, and that visitor session is discarded after 24 hours.

Google Analytics 4 records the pages you view, the page that sent you here, your approximate location, and your browser and device. It sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<container-id>, which by default last two years, so a return visit counts as the same visitor. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings; the site works the same without them.

The contact form

When you write to us through the contact form, your name, email address and message are sent to our inbox by email, together with the address of the page you sent it from. We use them only to read and answer your message. The site itself does not keep a copy.
